The EPA defines a carbon footprint as the amount of greenhouse gasses emitted into
the atmosphere each year by a person, household, building, etc. Also according to the EPA, the average carbon footprint for 2-person household in the US is 41,500 pounds a year. Here are a few websites that offer carbon footprint calculators:
