Test them out with these two games from the Carnegie Mellon University Libraries website. “Within Range” tests your shelving skills by timing how quickly you can correctly shelve a pile of books. “I’ll Get It” analyzes your research skills in a game similar to Diner Dash. Contestants must decide which reference resources will best suit the patron’s request. Let us know how you do!


Best Toys For 2007

October 24, 2007 tests toys with kids and adults and comes up with an annual list of what’s best from everyone’s point of view. This year the website offers up the Top Ten and breaks down toys by age group for: 3-5 year-olds, 5-8 year-olds, and 8-12 year-olds. They also provide the Toys Of The Year winners for 2005 and 2006.

If you’re buying or selling a home check out, a free home sales and home valuation site developed by the guys who brought you the travel website It’s still in its beta version but it provides a home valuation tool and users can get information about homes for sale, comparable homes and historical sales.

Check out where you can search more than 650,000 scholarships offering more than 2.5 billion dollars. The service is free but you must register as a member. Membership allows you to create a personal scholarship profile, keep track of applications and receive scholarship e-mail updates among other things.

The Lab researches topics such as: why we unknowingly overeat and grocery shopping psychology. If you enjoyed reading Mindless Eating by Brian Winsink, then you’ll enjoy this website since much of the research in the book was done in the lab at Cornell.
