Movie Locations Guide

Beloit College Mindset List For The Class Of 2011

“Each August for the past decade, as faculty prepare for the academic year, Beloit College in Wisconsin has released the Beloit College Mindset List. Its 70 items provide a look at the cultural touchstones that have shaped the lives of today’s first-year students, most of them born in 1989. It is the creation of Beloit’s Keefer Professor of the Humanities Tom McBride and Public Affairs Director Ron Nief.”

Stop Those Annoying Sales Calls

The National Do Not Call Registry website allows you to register your home phone number(s) so you can limit–if not eradicate, those annoying sales calls that invariably come when you are sitting down to dinner with your family, getting out of the shower or, worst of all–taking a nap. The Registry is managed by the Federal Trade Commission and comes complete with an articulate, if not lengthy, set of frequently-asked-questions which should respond to any question you might have about registering your number and how the system works.

Mattel’s Consumer Relations Answer Center provides a list of all product recalls announced since August 1998. Follow the link on a specific recall and you can: access information to help determine if a product you own is affected by that recall, review and print the recall announcement and brochure, and search the products affected by the recall.
